What a Beautiful Little Flicker!

We continue down an exciting track! This past week our ultrasound showed a consistant little flicker on the screen that is our baby's heartbeat! Henry was there, and while tired, was excited to see the baby.

This past weekend we were able to share some time with my parents, who came to visit. It was nice to visit with them. Koda & Jack were glad to see their "grandparents" and enjoyed playing games with my parents. My dad sure enjoyed their playful banter.

Henry & my dad were able to go to the yearly motorcycle show at Rosemont. Mom & I went shopping and out to lunch. We went to our favorite restaurant for dinner, and everyone had a good time. We had a nice end to the night with a birthday cake for Henry and a nice fire. I always wish we had longer visits, but for now, I'll take what I can get!

As for the pregnancy, I continue to find the first trimester difficult with lots of "all-day sickness" (since mine can't seem to just be in the morning). I'm just trying to look forward to the months to come, with great hope for an end to the morning sickness soon. I will keep the morning sickness because I know that I'm going to have a great reward in the end! Tomorrow marks Week 7.

We look forward to next week's doctor's appointment, and another ultrasound.

Below are the pictures from the Week 6 Ultrasound.

We saw so much growth from Week 5 to Week 6 and hope to see just as much from Week 6 to Week 8.

We're also anxiously awaiting the birth of our niece or nephew! We're praying for a happy, healthy baby for Chad & Gabrielle, and a wonderful birth, too. I just know that Gabbi will make a wonderful Mom, and I can't wait to see her in action! We're hopeful that these cousins can spend plenty of time together as they grow up!

It's time to close this post, but we'll see you soon!

The First Post

Henry & I are having a great winter so far!

Henry continues to enjoy his job, and enjoys spending time with the friends he's made at work. He comes home tired, and sometimes dirty, but usually a pretty happy guy. Every couple of weeks he tries to get out with his co-workers. Soon Henry will head off to Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) to complete a class on taxi-ing airplanes across the airport.

Overall, I too, enjoy my job. In the past months, I've been completing charge duties. I'm also on a charge nurse committee for the "growth and betterment" of the hospital. I'm also working on a committee for ethical changes with our hospice patients. It's something that I believe in completely. I've also been giving chemotherapeutic agents, something that I enjoy, after taking the class almost 1 year ago.

Henry & I are enjoying our home. We've definately been using our fireplace, and the dogs are enjoying the backyard. We've had so much snow, and it definately puts a bounce in Jack's step.

Jack & Koda had a friend over for a playdate recently, and while Jack had some trouble, he did seem to have a good time. They also recently spent the past few days with my parents' dog, KD, and they had a good time. KD is a "old lady" and a grouch at that. But they did get along pretty darn well.

Our most recent news (and probably the most exciting news) is the to-be addition to our family. Henry & I are happy to announce that we are going to have a baby. Our due date is the end of September. Below is a picture of the baby, growing and healthy. The ultrasound technician said it had great blood flow and that it looked "Great" for it's age. At this point I'm doing ok. I have low progesterone, so I'm going to be having several early ultrasounds. I've had quite a bit of nausea, but so far it comes and goes. Right now we just feel very blessed.
